-----Literacy: Reading Station
• 1-full page reading over Matter
• 4 Task Cards reviewing the reading article
• This station will help you incorporate reading into your science classroom.
• 4 Task Cards with guiding and critical thinking questions
• 20 Matter cards: 10 terms and 10 illustrations (card sort activity)
• 2 Sheets covering: Density and Mixtures (Homogeneous / Heterogeneous)
• This station will serve as an interactive, hands-on activity covering density and pure substances/mixtures.
• 4 Task Cards
• Internet access is required for 3 questions
• All questions for this station can be answered by viewing the video (less than 7 minutes)
• This station contains 2 mini-labs. Lab 1 requires baking soda and vinegar. Labe 2 requires hydrogen peroxide and yeast. All materials can be purchased at a grocery store and may be completed in small cups / Ziploc baggies. The sample size is not important to complete the activities.

• Internet access is required, as well as access to a calculator.
• This station will help students explore density as an intensive physical property of a substance

• This station requires students to determine whether 9 samples are pure substances or mixtures, elements or compounds (or a combination), and to write chemical formulas (experience for this part is not needed).
