I hope this activity will help your budding scientists to observe and describe the properties of solids. Ahead of time, gather a few simple materials, such as the ones on page 3 and 4, or choose your own and use the blank grid on page 5 and 6. I suggest having the children use magnifiers to closely observe each object’s size, shape, color, and texture. There is a word bank included that you can make copies of, or enlarge to use as a poster.
