This journal was designed to allow students a concise place to experiment and record data on the following:
*Sink or Float
*States of Matter
In addition, there are blank observation pages so that students can take notes on teacher-created experiments.
I DO have an editable version of this journal, however, I am not sure that the fonts will transfer over. If you need to make changes, I will be happy to send the editable version.
PRINTING HELP: (I intended this to be a 1/2 page fold-over booklet)
1. Print a master copy (1-sided)
2. Turn every other page upside down.
3. Print two-sided and fold!
*Hope that is as easy as it sounds.
Within the journal there are two specific experiments listed:
Ice Ice Baby: Students place a few ice cubes in a ziploc bag and will take the temperature of the solid. The bags of ice will be places outdoors and will be re-examined later in the day. Temperature will be taken again. Focus: How did temperature affect your matter? (This can be done with ice and melted, or with water and frozen depending on where you live!)
Pudding Time: Students will walk through the steps of making instant pudding. Take the temperature of the mixture prior to letting it "set" in a school or classroom fridge. Take temperature again several hours later, and again discuss the effect on the matter.
