Use this resource to enhance your teaching about Maurice Wilkins and his contributions to the discovery of the structure of DNA. Guided graphic notes are a powerful way to help your students make associations between words and visual images. Sketching, doodling, or coloring notes gives students an opportunity to personalize their learning and improves their retention of the things they are learning. Research shows a powerful memory effect when images and words are linked during the process of learning.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This resource is part of my Structure of DNA Guided Graphic Notes Bundle. The bundle includes guided graphic notes on Rosalind Franklin, James Watson, Francis Crick, and Maurice Wilkins as well as guided graphic notes on the structure of DNA.
PLEASE do not purchase this resource if you already own that bundle.
In this resource you will receive:
• A fill-in-the-blank notes page (or biography research guide).
• A completed notes page (teacher key) or student handout
• A list of suggested online research sources
You can use the fill-in-the-blank page for class notes or as a guide for a brief student research assignment. This resource makes an excellent emergency substitute teacher lesson or homework assignment because the required information can be quickly found using the hyperlinked information sources.
The completed notes page can be used as a study guide, as a handout if you want students to have the information but have limited time to provide notes, or you can use it as an accurate completed notes page for your struggling students. You can help students learn to take good notes if you trade their best attempt at note taking for a completed accurate page. Or, give the completed version to a student who missed class on the day students were taking notes.
Please take a look at the preview to help you make an informed decision.
