The informational text explains how geography shaped and influenced the civilizations of the Maya, Aztec, and Inca. In order to ensure understanding, students are required to sketch a picture to represent the main idea of each paragraph.
Vocabulary and Writing:
After completing the text portion of the assignment, students move on to focus on vocabulary and writing. The vocabulary section requires students to define tier-three words using context clues from the reading. The writing section requires students to complete a close paragraph highlighting one effect of geography on each civilization.
An answer key is provided for easy grading or use with a substitute teacher.
