Are you studying the ancient cultures of the Maya, Aztec, and the Inca and looking for a way to integrate writing and English Development into your study? Then look no further!
This bundle includes lessons plans, anchor charts, writing prompts, reading passages, scoring matrixes, and more to help your students integrate their learning of the ancient cultures.
Students will first write a narrative taking the point of view of an Aztec peasant. They will learn to write using correct story plot, dialogue, and descriptive language.
Students will also read and watch a version of the creation myth of each of the three cultures. They will then create a script and play of the myths to present to the class as another form of presentation to compare and contrast. Finally they will then work to compare and contrast the different myths in a paper.
This would be a great addition to any ancient cultures unit, or grab my entire unit (available soon) in my store, which includes an Incan simulation, information about the Maya, Aztec, and Inca, this narrative writing unit, and English Language Development lessons about comparing and contrasting the creation myths of all three cultures, a Mayan performance task, and a final assessment.
