This is a QR code scavenger hunt I created that correlates with the 5th Grade Treasures Reading Series. It can be used for a center or a whole group student centered activity. Maya Lin: Architect of Memory is Unit 1 Week 3 in this reading series, and it includes five vocabulary word.
This lesson requires students to use a mobile device (smart phone/Touchpad) that has a QR Code Reader app. If you do not have a QR Code app, they can be downloaded for free in any App store. I work at a school that does not have mobile devices for students, so we do a B.Y.O.D. day (Bring Your Own Device Day), and students who do not have a device use my iPad or cell phone and work in small groups.
There are a total of 15 QR codes which include either a picture, a definition, or a fill in the blank sentence for each of the five vocabulary words. Students will scan the QR code and determine which vocabulary word goes with the picture/sentence/or definition that pops up on their mobile device. Students will record their answers onto the worksheet provided.
QR Code task cards can be laminated for multiple use. QR Codes, Answer Key, and Student worksheet are included in this purchase.
