✐ This product is a good review of "Finding the Horizontal Asymptote of Rational Functions" which is an important element that is needed before graphing these functions.

There are several models illustrated in this maze . As the horizontal asymptote is determined by comparing the degrees of the numerator polynomial and the denominator polynomial, the following models are shared in this maze:

❖ The degree of the numerator is less than the degree of the denominator
❖ The degree of the numerator is greater than the degree of the denominator
❖ The degree of the numerator is equal to the degree of the denominator

Students need to feel comfortable with:

✦ ✦ The general form of the rational functions [P(x) = N(x)/D(x)]
✦ ✦ The transformed form of the parent function [The parent is P(x) =a/x. The rational function will shift the parent up or down and the HA will need to be determined from that]
✦ ✦ Be able to do these questions without graphing

There are 15 Rational Functions provided. From start to end, the student will be able to answer 13 questions out of the 15 provided to get to the end of the maze.

This maze could be used as: a way to check for understanding, a review, recap of the lesson, pair-share, cooperative learning, exit ticket, entrance ticket, homework, individual practice, when you have time left at the end of a period, beginning of the period (as a warm up or bell work), before a quiz on the topic, and more.
