With so many books being turned into movies, what better way to engage our students than to bring that connection into the classroom? This art or language arts based project focuses on the incredibly well known and popular movie, "The Maze Runner."
In the assignment students discuss the maze featured in the movie. Historic and mythological mazes are discussed, and compared to the maze in the movie. The elements and principles apparent in maze design are discussed and a Zentangle maze design project is introduced.
This lesson plan includes the big idea, objectives, essential questions, a break down of the process, a Zentangle how to worksheet and practice sheet, a rubric, and critique sheet. National art and language art standards are included for grades 6th-12th.
This project could be adapted for a Language Arts, Social Studies, Art History, or a Studio Art class. This project is appropriate for students in 6th-12th grade.
