This is a cooperative learning activity that requires participation by all students. Students will work together to calculate the number of Calories in a McDonald's extra value meal and how many calories remain for the day after eating one. The activity applies to organic molecules, carbohydrates, lipids (fats), proteins, math skills, and problem solving skills.
Both a 6 card and 5 card version are included. Page 3 contains the solution.
Divide students into groups of 5 or 6. Give each student a card. Students may read the clues on their own card, but they may not show the card to anyone else. In order to solve the problem, every student must participate.
