This McGraw Hill Wonders second grade unit 1 full color card game plays exactly like the popular card game "Go Fish." The object of the game is for students to make books of four cards with words that have the same sound. To help students ensure that they are matching cards correctly, each set of four cards is color coded. As in "Go Fish," the student with the most books at the end of the game wins.
The card game practices spelling and other words from unit 1 with the following sounds:
- short "a" sound
- short "i" sound
- short "e" sound
- short "o" sound
- short "u" sound
- long "a" sound
- long "i" sound
- two letter blend "gr"
- two letter blend "sm"
- two letter blend "cl"
- two letter blend "st"
- two letter blend "pl"
- two letter blend "cr"
For best results, cards should be printed in color (front and back) and cut along dotted lines then laminated individually for continued long term use.
Game is for two to six players. Set includes teaching instructions and four cards for each sound resulting in a complete deck of 52 cards.
