These games go with the McGraw-Hill reading series. Each game can be played after partner reading the story, after independent reading of a story, in small group, or put in as a station to review a story. Each game has a few phonics skill practice sentences, questions about the genre, and also a mix of 1st grade comprehension focuses from the series. The thing I like best about these games is that you can copy them, laminate them, and then lay them out. My students know where game pieces and dice are, so I only have to provide the game itself. They get finished with the story and then they grab a game and start playing. If they finish the game, I have them play again.
