This Unit 2, Week 1, Wonders pack (3rd Grade) comes with a weekly power point (about 22 slides) to keep you on track and have something nice to guide you through the lessons and introduce the skills. NOTE: I did not include spelling and grammar because I keep those separate, so that will not be mentioned in this pack. This is based off of a 6 day cycle (day 1-5 teach) day 6 test. I did include the daily edit in the slides. I did this power point because I hate teaching out of the book and I like to have some colorful slides to follow to get me started and keep me on track. I do not have to go into the manual other than for the stories. You will notice the slides have numbers in the bottom right corner that correspond to what day we are on. I also list the standards at the top of the slide in case you have any "visitors". Also included is a study guide that I send home to parents to give them an idea of the skills. I attach this guide to the selection test that can be found on Wonders online and send that home for hw. They do these at home and I sometimes offer a couple extra points on the test. With this package, you will also see "board vocab" which is a word doc of the vocab words. There is also optional vocab homework if wanted. I have my students hand write the words into their vocab journals (not inlcuded) and since I am not crazy about the Wonders manual's definitions, I make my own. There is a summary sheet that goes with the partner read if you want to use that. Also, there is a research and inquiry idea and folder should you choose to follow the way I did it. If so, you can choose to follow my plan or if not, just follow the Wonders manual for your own research and inquiry.I also included an antonym practice page to help with the test. Note, you may do things a bit different or see me refer to things you do not have. I also use the Wonders practice book, and other TPT things I have bought that I cannot include with this. Feel free to make changes to this pp and make it your own. It may not match up to exactly how you do things, but I think it is a nice frame. :) These is a power point and Word docs for your reference.
