This is a vocabulary review sheet that aligns with the McGraw Hill Wonders Reading Series. This vocabulary review sheet correlates with the reading story from Unit 1, Week 1, "One Hen".
Students are asked to define the vocabulary terms. The second portion of the activity requires students to use context clues to determine the word that best fits each sentence. There is also an additional section that requires students to identify the word that does not fit in a group of words. This will cause students to use their knowledge of the terms to identify the synonym/antonym relationships of the vocabulary words. Challenging words have been included in the word choices which will also require students to delve into a dictionary to determine word meanings before determining the best answer.
This vocabulary review activity is an activity that students may complete in pairs, literacy centers, or individually. The vocabulary review can be displayed and completed with the entire class. It could also be useful if you are going over the vocabulary review together, or if you are using it in a center. It would make the center self-checking.
