This is a set of text dependent questions that correlate with the McGraw Hill Wonders Reading Series, "Stage Fright". I have created a set of questions that go along with the poem on "Blue Ribbon Dreams" found on workbook pages 93. The questions I have created require students to look back in the text to find their answers. Students are asked to identify why the poem is a narrative, identify rhyme and repetition, and the theme of the poem. I encourage my students to highlight the portion of the poem that helps them find their answer. I believe this is a great way to prepare students to take standardized tests as well as form a habit of "proving" their answers by finding text support. This is a skill that students MUST conquer in order to be successful with the new common core standards.
I have several other activities that correlate with this story. Please take a look and see if anything interests you. I have a lesson plan bundle that includes everything I have created for this story as well. This is a GREAT way to have everything you'll need to supplement your curriculum to teach this story thoroughly. Thank you for considering my products.
