These reading response sheets correlate with McGraw-Hill Wonders weekly anthology selection in first grade. Instead of having the children answer orally, give them a chance to write their responses! I did this last year, and loved having just one more way to get the children writing. After reading the weekly selection on day 3, discuss the essential question at the end of the selection as a group. Then let the children respond to the essential question as a writing activity. It gets everyone thinking and busy, as well as helping to strengthen those important writing skills!
There are two response sheets per week. You'll be able to differentiate as you challenge students with above average writing skills!
