This song and question guide accompany the Spanish song "Me gustas tú" by Manu Chao. Background information on Manu Chao, before listening and during listening questions, and fill-in song lyrics are included, along with a small group project to expand upon the song. Answer key and score sheets for the group singing project are included. This is a great way to teach and reinforce gustar/intransitive verbs in Spanish.
I usually introduce the song by having students read the background information on Manu Chao. We listen to the song once, filling in the questions on p. 1. Then, we listen again, filling in the blanks on the lyrics. Afterward, we review as a class and watch a video version. Finally, students form groups to write and sing an extra stanza of the song.
Note that one line of the song is inappropriate for students, though they often do not notice it. The line is omitted in this set of lyrics, and I play an edited version of it in class. Edited versions for school are widely available on Youtube.
