Pages 3-5: Amazing Word Cards
Pages 6-10: Spelling Word and Challenge Word Cards
Pages 11-14: Word Wise (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students choose and write seven word card words with the vowel patterns ei and eigh. Write a sentence for each word.
Pages 15-18: Word Work: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students say ten word card words and sort them in the T-Chart.
Pages 19-20: Let’s Write! (I hang up the letter to the invitation to help students remember what an invitation is). Students write an invitation to a friend for an imaginary birthday party. Use colons in the start and end times.
Pages 21: Words To Know: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students find four unfamiliar words in books, magazines, or newspapers. Look up their meanings. Write sentences using the word and context clues.
Page 22: Read For Meaning: Students read a Leveled Reader and write one sentence in which you draw a conclusion about a character or event. Write one sentence that identifies support for the conclusion.
Page 23: I included a portion of Me and Uncle Romie for students to read for fluency.
