Me on the Map is a great activity to help students see the way the world works. It pairs well with the book Me on the Map by Joan Sweeney. This activity goes from planet all the way from planet to an individual person. The pages are laid out so they make a flip book when cut out. This document was made for Red Lion, Pennsylvania, so you would need to insert a picture of your own city, county, and state. It is a word document so that should be no problem at all. The pages each include 2 blank lines for students to write 1-2 sentences about each step of the map. The students really grasp the concept of how the world works after this activity and I have seen it used as low as first grade.
