Life Cycle of Mealworms!

Studying the life cycle of mealworms can be very interesting. There is a worksheet showing the basic needs for survival for students to study and color.
Students are to create their Peekaboo Life Cycle Spinner Wheel with two circles and a brass fastener. After both circles have been cut and colored, put the peekaboo spinner on top of the life cycle wheel. When both circles are even, place a brass fastener through the center of the spinners. Turn top spinner clockwise to see the sequences of the life cycle. Print on cardstock for more durability.
Students have a worksheet mealworm life cycle plate to color, and then will make a Mealworm Life Cycle Plate by cutting and pasting their insects on a plain paper plate and drawing arrows to show the sequences of the life cycle.
Cut out the Mealworm Watches for the students to color and wear. Use a paperclip or double-sided tape to keep in place. Print on cardstock for more durability.
Students are to write three things that they learned about mealworms on their Bug Catcher worksheets.
Use Graphic Organizers for the students to gather information about the life cycle of mealworms that they are studying. Students are to write what they know, want to learn, and what they have learned in the KWL boxes. Students are to write about what mealworms/beetles can do, what they have, and what they are in the boxes. After the students have read about, researched, and made notes about their mealworms/beetles life cycle, there is a Writing Prompt for them to write a story.
