Great task to assess understanding of Mean Absolute Deviation. Can be used as a summative assessment or as a practice task. Students are required to find the mean, median and mode of each coaches wins and losses. Next, the students are required to make a dot plot for the wins of each coach. Third, the students will answer questions by interpreting (Level 3 DOK) the data on the line plots that they just created. Fourth, the students will create a box plot for 2 of the coaches based on their wins and then answer questions from those box plots. Fifth, they will fill in a table with the lowest and highest extreme, lower and upper quartile, median, and the interquartile range from their box plots. Last, students will find the mean absolute deviation for all 3 of the coaches. Also, a rubric and answer key if included.
