For this project, students work in groups to discuss how they spent their time this summer (or winter break). They will estimate how many hours a day they spent on electronics and how many hours a day they spent outside. They will need to find the mean, median, mode, range, Mean Absolute Deviation, and Interquartile Range. It requires that the students work together to gather data, organize that data, and find the correct information to compare the average time spent outside and on electronics. Afterwards they can compare with the other groups in the class to find the class average of each. I've included a graph to grade the projects and an explanation on the bottom of the instructions so the students will know what they will be graded on.
