I developed this very basic instructional PowerPoint and Task Card combination for an Adult Education class returning to Numeracy studies. Instruction was embedded within a Mathematics for Living program. My experience with the Powerpoint was that it provided good basic skills associated with Mean, Median, Mode and Range for learners who had previously struggled with the terminology and associated procedures. I also incoprporated a one-page Glossary of Terms template document for the students to refer to when performing the Task Card activities (not included). The students prepared their own entries based upon direct instruction.
I prepared several sets of the laminated task cards for my learners to work on in groups of three students.
Included in this package:
One instruction PowerPoint presentation (5 slides)
One pdf document (2 pages) with eight ready-to-print and laminate coloured task cards.
This presentation would be suitable for either a Junior Secondary Class or an adult class with a Maths for living skills focus.
