This activity involves student sibling data and finding the mean, median, mode, range, and mean absolute deviation of that data. Although it is best used for multiple classes, it can be tailored for one class too. Students will create class dot plots, will find the statistical measures of those dot plots, and will analyze their findings. This product contains a minimum ten-page student packet of work (it's more pages if you use more than two classes) and a suggest outline for how to use the sheets for maximum thinking and engagement. I have used this activity in the past and have loved the deep thinking that it promotes in my students.
