This resource will save you time if you are trying to give your students useful, specific meaningful feedback. It will provide three ways to improve the quality of feedback you give to your students without having to spend tons of time writing. The first resource is a set of “Comments Codes”. These are abbreviated ways to give students insights into their errors (for example, sign error, careless error, etc…). There is a full-page, poster version of this resource, as well as a black-and-white version, four to a page version to give to your students.
The second resource is a simple, generic rubric with categories that address three main areas: student understanding of concept, precision of student work and organization of student work. This resource is also provided in full-page, poster form, or two on a page.
The final resource is a simple graphic that you can put at the top of any of your assessments, or on different sections of your assessments. It allows you to mark students’ progress in terms of understanding of concepts as well as attention to precision.
