Product Description
When we understand the subtle, but powerful facets of place value, everything in math makes more sense, from multiplication to decimals.
600.2 miles of running along an imaginary El Camino Real provides a great opportunity to truly feel place value.
Student-made 1/10 of a mile running routes set the stage perfectly. Knowing that 1/10 of a mile is 528 feet, and by recording the total number of feet run after each 1/10 of a mile lap, students can develop a tiring understanding of the fact that 5,280 feet (one mile) is 10 times longer than 528 feet!
