Teach your students about different kinds of penguins, have them measure them and sort them by size.
Common Core Standards
Math: K.MD.1– describe measurable attributes of objects
Science: K.L.1.1– compare different types of the same animal
Give each child a copy of both sheets of penguins and about 10 unifex cubes. Have the children measure each penguin from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet and write the number of cubes tall each penguin is on the line. Next, have the children cut around each penguin (including the name and measurement)
and glue the penguins to a sheet of blue construction paper in
order from shortest to tallest. I let my students decorate the
paper with snowflakes to dress it up a little.
