#### What educators are saying

Loved this for virtual learning, Great addition to my current resources I use for this particular topic. Kept my students thoroughly engaged and provided great information.
It was a great review of using a ruler correctly and aligning the ruler with zero and not the end of the ruler.

### Description

Do your third grade students need more practice measuring with rulers to the nearest quarter inch? Are you looking for engaging, rigorous games that will help students with this important skill (without taking hours to prep!)? Look no further! These print AND digital activities will meet your grade 3 students' needs. There are four measurement games to help students practice their math skills - in a fun way! They align with 3.MD.4. These 3rd grade math activities are great for measuring to the nearest quarter inch.

WHAT'S INCLUDED? (PRINT AND DIGITAL)

Game 1: Measure the Line

Students measure the teal line using the ruler given. They drag over the ruler and then type the answer in the gray box.

Game 2: Multiple Choice

Students put the construction hat on the unicorn with the correct answer. Students measure to the inch, 1/2 inch, and 1/4 inch.

Game 3: Measure the Object

Students measure the random object on each slide by dragging it on top of the ruler and then typing the answer in the box.

Game 4: Grab the Line

Students grab the pink line and drag it so it’s the appropriate length shown in the pink box.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT:

There are 11 problems included in each of the 4 games (total of 44 questions).

Digitally: The first problem is always an example for students so they know what to do. I would recommend completing 5 questions during your lesson together and assigning the other 5 for students to complete independently.

Print: Print the task cards out and put them in a math center. Have students record answers on the recording sheet provided. Students can use the self-checking answer key to check their work. You can choose between the color and black and white option.
