Measurement Activities St Patrick's Day - This is a fun, hands-on activity that practices measuring objects. It is a differentiated activity with several ways to use.
5 worksheets with St Patrick's themed pictures for kids to measure. They come in two versions - fill in just a number or write a whole sentence.
2 versions of a shamrock measuring tape
1 sheet with single shamrocks
All of the above available in color and black and white.
4 recording sheets for the 'Measure around the room' activities.
1. You can use it to measure the pictures on the worksheets. Here again having the choice to cut and paste whole measuring tapes, use just one and record the measures or use single shamrock to lay side by side.
2. With a longer measuring tape that kids can make by themselves, measure objects around the room. This one is real fun as kids may try to find the tallest or widest thing they can measure, start collaborating laying several measuring tapes side by side and calculating the sum. With this you can choose among several different recording sheets. They draw the object and write down its dimensions.
3. Estimate the height or length of an object, then check if you guessed correctly or how close you were. This is great as a group activity where every kid makes a guess and then we count how many guessed correctly.
4. Draw, cut and measure your own pictures. (great for early finishers.)
