This is a fun, hands-on math activity that allows students to practice their measuring skills, while also allowing them to practice tracking data on a bar graph. Students will grow string beans, measure the growth, and use the record their results.
The activity sheets for this project can be placed in a folder, glued to a piece of construction paper, or mounted on a bulletin board. They should be easily accessible to students as they do their research and record data.
This project would also make a great learning center, with 2-5 students working together in groups to track progress.
