I made this activity for my First Graders when I realized the best possible way for them to learn how to measure was to actually measure real things! I made it fun for them by scrambling the words of the objects they were supposed to measure! They LOVED it!
I created two pages for this activity. Each page has the same content, it just has the list of objects in a different order. That way, you won't have the whole class trying to measure the same object at the same time.
This product contains a list of scrambled words, the students unscramble the words and then measure the classroom object in feet or inches. (We discussed what kind of things are best to measure in feet and what kind of objects are best to measure in inches.)
At the bottom of this activity sheet are a few measurement related review questions.
