This measurement worksheet was created to be partnered with a lesson on nonstandard units of measure. This tool was created around the standard: "1.M.1: Use direct comparison or a nonstandard unit to compare and order objects according to length, area, capacity, weight, and temperature."
I enjoyed this tool because it is rather simple, yet it helps organize their information so the students can better understand the idea of measuring objects using different unit. I added the comparison part at the bottom to help them determine the relationships between units. It also helps them realize that if something is 7 pencils long and 7 buttons long that does not mean that those two objects are the same length. This really emphasizes the concept of nonstandard units and why they are a useful too, especially to the lower elementary grades.
