This project allows students to practice area and perimeter while having fun designing a pizza restaurant!
A new kid’s pizza restaurant is coming to town, and you have been selected by your teacher to design a floor plan and come up with a cool name for this restaurant. You are to design a floor plan that includes the items listed below. Give each item a different color by coloring in the box next to the item. Color and cut out the dimensions of each item on graph paper. Each square represents one foot. Once you have all items cut out, place them on your final plan sheet. You are then to find the area and perimeter of each item on your floor plan.
This project can be an individual, small group or a whole group activity. It covers common core 4.MD.3.
This activity is also inside my large Measurement Unit
that is 80 pages and covers 4.MD.1, 4.MD.2, and 4.MD.3.
