Product Description
Measurement is an excellent way to teach the scientific method and independent and dependent variables to elementary and middle school students. This science lab activity teaches the scientific method as well as the metric system. The objective of this activity is for students to drop water and other liquids from measured heights and then measure the diameter of the resulting drop shape. Students observe that the drop shapes formed from some liquids are larger and more irregular than other liquids. The activity fosters precision measuring skills using centimeters and millimeters. The data can be plotted into a nice line graph.

The activity is completely described and the expected results are stated. A variety of result tables are provided which gives you flexibility running the activity. Two versions of custom graph paper are also included: with and without the X and Y axis labeled. This allows you to differentiate the graph.
