The measurement escape room is an immersive experience for your students. It allows them to demonstrate their knowledge of measurement using different science equipment such as graduated cylinder and triple beam balances in a fun and engaging format.
7.4A - use appropriate tools, including life science models, hand lenses, stereoscopes, microscopes, beakers, Petri dishes, microscope slides, graduated cylinders, test tubes, meter sticks, metric rulers, metric tape measures, timing devices, hot plates, balances, thermometers, calculators, water test kits, computers, temperature and pH probes, collecting nets, insect traps, globes, digital cameras, journals/notebooks, and other necessary equipment to collect, record, and analyze information
Scientific practices include planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, using mathematical and computational thinking, constructing explanations and designing solutions, engaging in argumentation based on evidence.
A Unique Escape Room Experience:
Unlike many escape rooms, the teacher is in total control on which of the 8 puzzles they want to use and in which order to use them. Each puzzle is independent of the others. This is great for shorter or longer class periods.

What Materials Will I Need?
The escape room can be run in several different ways. The cheapest and easiest method is to use manila envelopes for the puzzles (all directions provided).
For a more authentic escape room each group will need the following:
- One Lockout Hasp
- Two, 4-digit locks
- Four, 3-digit locks
- One storage box that includes a place for the lockout hasp
Both methods will need the following:
All printed materials from the puzzles chosen
Manila envelopes (used for each of the puzzles)
Mirror or reflective surface (cell phone camera would work)
Brads for the decoder rings
