Description

Science and math come together in this lab/activity! This lab demonstrates the importance of accuracy and practice in measuring and is a real-life example of setting up ratios. Students practice making accurate measurements to test the claims made by Vitruvius about the proportions of the human body, in the year 1487. It is a fun lab that allows students to collaborate while the teacher is in the role of facilitator.

Students travel to each station to measure specific parts of the body to fill in a chart. After all the measurements are collected, then ratios are calculated to discover if Vitruvius' claims are correct.
