This lesson has been carefully planned to engage students’ imaginations, allow them to practice meaningful measuring, and provide substantive assessment feedback for the teacher on every student. In this interactive lesson plan on measurement, students will: 1) estimate the measurements of their body parts within one inch of accuracy; 2) measure other students’ body parts to the nearest inch; and 3) contrast their measurements to those in the Guinness Book of World Records. Using scaffolding, clear directions, and concrete goals every student will be effectively supported in their learning during this lesson.
