Twelve (12) "Measurement Tool" cards which can be used to facilitate class discussions around tools that help us to measure. Includes: bathroom scale, balance, measuring cup, measuring spoons, tape measure, ruler, stopwatch, thermometer, kitchen scale (produce scale), calendar, clock and yardstick. Also, it on the card is a brief/simple description of what it measures. Use in a pocket chart, add magnets to the back or create and anchor chart.
Eight (8) "I Can Measure" cards which can be used as a "Who Measures?" game. Includes: construction worker, pizza maker/cook, librarian, vet, teacher, winter girl, birthday boy, and a runner. Each person/card asks students to identify which tool they could use to measure. Students can answer orally ...or match up with a measurement tool card.
Six (6) Mutts/Dogs Sheets that print 8 1/2 X 11. Teacher should print and laminate and place around the classroom. Students will measure various parts of the mutt/dog with a non standard unit of measurement (unifix cubes) - Students measure the mutt's tail, height, length, ear, back etc… A recording worksheet is included.
One (1) Measure Max worksheet/differentiate for your students. Students will cut the paper unifix strip and measure Max's lines.
