This project is a great way for students to use what they have learned about standard and metric measurement conversion.
Included are six nonfiction information sheets on different endangered animals. Students are asked to convert measurement units in both metric and standard measurement systems.
As they research the animals and their reasons for being endangered, they:
- record data
- learn about careers in environmental conservation
- come up with ideas to help endangered animals
- create a wildlife sanctuary for animals
- utilize measurement skills
- work with maps and graphs
This project will take multiple class periods and integrates math, science, social studies, and reading.
