In this activity, students use a trend line that approximates the linear relationship between bivariate sets of data to make predictions.
Students will also construct a scatterplot and describe the observed data to address questions of association such as linear, non-linear, and no association between bivariate data.
In this hands-on activity, students will measure their height, arm span, and foot length, and use the measurements to create 2 scatterplots. Students will use critical writing and thinking skills to answer questions about their scatterplots and their associations. This activity also spirals knowledge from writing equations from graphs in slope-intercept form.
