The stations are designed to help children explore using a variety of measurement tools. Children will measure for accuracy, as well as practice in real life situations. This will help them to see measurement as a useful tool rather than something you just do in school. The stations include linear measures, mass, liquid volume, capacity, and elapsed time.
The materials required for this exploration should be easy to gather or for families to donate from their homes. Included are colorful station direction cards, black and white station direction cards and a Measurement Stations Exploration sheet that should be copied for each child.
