This is a set of task cards that covers VA MATH SOL 3.9:
The student will estimate and use U.S. Customary and metric units to measure
a) length to the nearest 12 - inch, inch, foot, yard, centimeter, and meter;
b) liquid volume in cups, pints, quarts, gallons, and liters;
c) weight/mass in ounces, pounds, grams, and kilograms; and
d) area and perimeter.
Students will pick the best estimate from given choices for the length, capacity, and weight/mass of a given item. Questions for both metric and customary. The students will practice choosing all of the correct answers from a given list of choices of possible measurements.
You can use these cards as a "scoot" game where students scoot around the room one desk at a time. You can also tape them around the room and let students work at their own pace. You could also use them for early finishers. The options are endless!
There are 24 task cards, a recording sheet, and an answer key.
