Description
Measurement is one of my very favorite things to teach! The possibilities are endless! This unit includes 77 pages with 14 different activities to use for measuring in standard OR non-standard forms. All the activities can be used with both. Here is what is included:
-Measure a Friend: students measure parts of a friend
-Measure on the Move: students measure different items around the classroom
-Walk and Find: students walk around the room and find items with a specific measurement
-Measure and Order: students choose 3 items from their desk to measure, draw and order
-Stinky Feet: students trace and measure their shoe
-Dream House: students draw and measure their dream house
-Order Up: students measure different pictures and order them by length
-Scoot: students measure pictures and record their measurements
-Which is Longer?: Students measure two picture card and record which is longer
-Flip it!: Students cut, measure, record, and glue pictures to their interactive math journal or piece of paper
-Print & Measure: students complete one of the independent worksheets
-Measurement Hat: students measure, cut and glue pictures to their hat – students order the pictures by their length
-Build a Butterfly: students build and measure a butterfly – students record the length and width of the parts of the butterfly
-Flying Kites: students measure, cut and glue kites to paper and record their measurements
These activities could be easily adapted for a Kindergarten classroom.
