Measurement in Science Stations: Tools and Metric Units

What educators are saying
Description
The stations cover mass, volume, metric length, and density. This measurement resource has two sets of sixteen stations to help your students practice their understanding of metric units and measuring tools. The first set of stations focuses on identifying the proper tools and units to use in different situations. The second set of stations gives students opportunities to measure properly using tools.
No supplies are needed for the first set of stations. The second set of stations does require supplies. Needed supplies include rulers, balances, graduated cylinders, beakers, pipettes, water, and various objects to measure.
In order to be successful with these stations, students need to be familiar with how to correctly use a balance, graduated cylinder, ruler, beaker, and pipette. Students will be asked to calculate the density of rectangular objects and use the water displacement method to find the density of irregularly shaped objects.
