This learning trail was developed to provide students with an opportunity to explore math in nature. The activities takes place along any outdoor trail in which a variety of trees are available for students to practice geometry and measurement techniques in a natural setting. Students will walk along a designated trail, stopping at three stations to complete three math activities. Students will practice estimation, measuring circumference, calculating volume, and using Pythagorean triangles. Download includes teacher resource, student instructions, and student task cards.
