Product Description
This activity is an awesome way to have students practice for the MSL's. The assignment features the poem "Incident in a Rose Garden," and asks students to use the poem to answer ten multiple-choice questions. The multiple-choice questions vary in complexity.

For the constructed response portion, students must describe a possible theme of the poem, and support their claim with at least two pieces of textual evidence. A rubric is included. The rubric shows students how they'll be graded while also providing the teacher with grading instructions.

A key for the multiple-choice questions is also included.

This activity aligns with the following Common Core Essential Standards: RL.9-12.1, RL.9-12.2, RL.9-12.4, W.9-12.4
