Product Description

Create triangle monsters and make protractor work engaging in this angle measurement project. This project is mathematically challenging and rigorous, yet students will love creating the monsters to decorate the classroom. Perfect for 4th-6th graders. Using the problem sheet students figure out the missing angles in each triangle and then draw the triangles with the given angle measurements using a protractor.

Once their triangles are drawn they can create cute triangle monster buddies or scary monsters depending upon your preference. This project teaches math standards while providing creativity and fun for your students! Students can make mobiles and decorate the classroom.

Standard

4.MD.6 - Students will measure angles in whole-number degrees using a protractor and sketch angles of a specified measure.

Differentiation

This activity teaches the 4th grade standard, 4.MD.6 with an additional challenge of applying the skill of sketching specified angles and incorporating them into triangles. The missing angle student activity page will help them learn the properties, classifications, and vocabulary of triangles.

An alternative activity is provided for students that need practice measuring angles with a protractor and would find drawing the triangles to be a little too challenging. Students in your classroom can work on either activity and enjoy the same final craft project.

Included:

•two activities differentiated for your learners

•a worksheet that students use clues to find the missing angle in ten triangles

•ten triangles to draw with given angles using a protractor

•the same ten triangles ready for students to measure the angles and cut out (easier)

•Ideas for decorating with common classroom art supplies

•Complete answer key
