This activity is designed for students to practice finding the radius, diameter, circumference, and area of circles of varying sizes. The students should use a ruler to measure the diameter of each circle to the nearest inch. The students can then use the diameter to determine the radius of each circle. Next, the students will calculate the circumference of each circle using one of the two formulas. Lastly, the students will calculate the area of each circle. There should be enough room for students to show their work in the chart on the recording sheet.
In preparation for this activity, it's helpful to print the circles in color and laminate them for future use. An answer key is included.
