Make learning FUN---Using Google Forms for MORE than an assessment!

Using Google Forms is a quick way to evaluate students level of mastery. This Google Form is used as a guided lesson as opposed to an assessment. Students can not advance to the next question until they have successfully found the answer to the current question. If students select the wrong answer, they are taken back to a tutorial to assist them in getting the question correct. Each multiple choice answer has a “response validation” requirement before students are allowed to progress to the next level of understanding.

So what will students walk away knowing about Measuring Length Using Customary Units? They will:
★ Build vocabulary
★ Estimate lengths
★ Determine the appropriate measuring tool for measuring length
→ruler
→yard stick
→measuring tape
★ Measure using the tools above
★ Compare lengths of various common classroom objects: pencil, marker, crayon, desk

Lesson ends with a scavenger hunt where students use their measuring tools to find objects in the classroom that are:
- close to 1 inch
- smaller than 6 inches
- close to 9 inches
- exactly 1 foot
- larger than 1 foot
- close to 3 feet
- close to 3 yards

Aligned to Common Core Standards: 2.MD.1-4

I hope you find this Google Form a helpful tool that will move students to mastery. Google Forms can be used with or without Google Classroom.
