Measuring activity for popcorn kernels! First, count how many popcorn kernels fit in a small container as a class. Then get out a big container and have students predict how many popcorn kernels will fit using what they know about the small container. Around the room, have three stations for students to visit including a cup, a cereal box, and any size ziploc container. Using popcorn kernels and measuring cups to have students solve how many popcorn kernels it takes to fill the container at their station. You can extend this project to do popped vs. unpopped popcorn.
